Regulation Garfagnana EPIC 2020
Art. 1 – The Garfagnana EPIC 2020 Cycling Excursion will take place on 30th & 31st May 2020. Although it is an amateur event, an ability to cope with the psycho-physical efforts and physical endurance is required.
Art. 2 – The departure will take place at the Sports Facilities of Gallicano (LU) on the 30th of May 2020 at 08:00 am.
Art. 3 – The Garfagnana EPIC 2020 is open to all cyclists from the age of 18, in possession of a medical certificate as prescribed by DM 24/04/2013 and an appropriate card.
Art. 4 – To take part in the Cycling Trip Garfagnana EPIC 2020 every cyclist needs to:
- be appropriately in shape and trained for distances as well as for the difference in altitudes;
- fill out and send the Registration Form and the Declaration of Responsability duly signed;
- pay the Participation Fee.
Art. 5 – Every cyclist taking part must consider themself as on a personal trip and wear a protective helmet. Furthermore, every cyclist must acknowledge that the route taken is not officially guarded by ASD, the organizing body of the excursion, and must behave responsably, complying with all official road rules as well as the rules for appropriate conduct in Parks and Agricultural Landscapes.
Art. 6 – Being an amateur event, the organizing body ASD cannot in any case be held responsible for any accidents that could happen along the excursion Garfagnana EPIC 2020.
Art. 7 – Every participant must agree to the use of his/her data and pictures by the organizing body, in compliance with the Data Protection Act n. 675 of 31/12/1996.
Art. 8 – Every cyclist will receive per email the GPS data of the route with information on the itinerary, points of rest, and control points, some days before the departure. With this data, each cyclist must autonomously be able to find their way to the control points on the route, as well as the finish (final destination). The control points will be located in vicinity of the resting points; at the control points every cyclist is obliged to sign in and enter his progress on the appropriate forms.
Art. 9 – Every cyclist must personally provide for themself all that is necessary for the completion of the cycling excursion Garfagnana EPIC 2020.
Art. 10 – If cyclists should register for the excursion, but later find they are not able to take part at Garfagnana EPIC 2020, then the registration fee will NOT BE REIMBURSED. It is however possible to replace a candidate as long as the organizing body is duly informed.
Art. 11 – The organizing body reserves the right to update the regulations at any moment. The internet site www.garfagnanaepic.com and facebook page www.facebook.com/garfagnanaepic are the official sites for this event. Therefore all official announcements will be published on these sites.
Art. 12 – The event will take place in all weather conditions providing there is no risk to health and security of the participants, but the event can be interrupted or canceled at the discretion of the organizing body. In case of adverse weather conditions, the organizing body can choose an alternative route. Should the event not take place for reasons of major force, the registration fee will not be reimbursed, and can not be taken into credit for an event in the successive year either. All details concerning these questions will be announced via internet or directly on location.
Art. 13 – Any Cyclist deciding to quit the event must inform the organizing body.
Art. 14 – All participants of the Garfagnana EPIC 2020 event are obliged to carry with them a repair kit for punctures, a cape in case of bad weather, and a lighting system both in the front and the rear.
Art. 15 – Taking part in the excursion requires the complete acceptance of these regulations, and a spirit of adaptation and tolerance, as well as the willingness to respect the directives of the organizing body.
