How to reach Gallicano:
From Lucca – 38 Km
Follow the S.S. No. 12 to the intersection Esselunga, here turn left, pass through two tunnels and continue along Serchio Valley (S.P.2). There are two roads that run along the river Serchio, one on the right and the other on the left. Both lead to the village of Borgo a Mozzano. At Borgo a Mozzano follow signs for Castelnuovo di Garfagnana taking the road that runs along the left of the Devil’s Bridge. Continue until Gallicano.
From Aulla – 62 km
From Aulla follow the S.S.N.63 “Passo del Cerreto” for 12 kms., then turn right for Casola in Lunigiana (19 km.), which represents the beginning of the road to the “Passo dei Carpinelli”. Follow the signs for Piazza al Serchio (42 km.) then for Castelnuovo Garfagnana (51 km.) and finally for Gallicano (62 Km.).
From Massa – 48 km
Pass through the center of Massa and follow the signs for San Carlo. Along this scenic route you will pass through the villages of Altagnana and Antona (10 km.). After the “Monte Pelato Gallery”, you’ll find the locality “Tre Fiumi” first and then the lake of Isola Santa. From here follow the signs for Castelnuovo Garfagnana (40 km.) and then for Gallicano (48 Km.).
From Modena – 110 km
From Modena continue for Pavullo (43 Km.) through the street called “Nuova Estense”. Go on along the S.S. n. 12 and reach Lama Mocogno (58 Km.). When in Pievepelago (77 Km.), take the S.S. n. 324, cross the Radici Pass (1529 m. A.s.l.) and reach Castelnuovo di Garfagnana and then Gallicano.
